Refund & Cancellation Policy
Key details on ferry refund and cancellation policies.
Time-Based Penalties
Refund eligibility depends largely on how early the cancellation request is made. Cancellations submitted 48 hours or more before departure generally attract only nominal documentation or processing charges.
Cancellation penalties may vary depending on the ferry operator's policy:
- Cancellations within 72 hours of the scheduled departure may result in a substantial penalty of 90%.
- Cancellations within 52 hours of the scheduled departure may result in a substantial penalty of 40%.
- Cancellations within 32 hours of the scheduled departure may result in a substantial penalty of 25%.
- Today cancellations and no-show cases may be non-refundable.
Operator-Initiated Cancellations
In cases where the ferry service is cancelled by the operator due to unavoidable circumstances such as adverse weather conditions, technical faults, or operational issues, passengers are typically entitled to a full refund.
Alternatively, passengers may be offered the option to reschedule their journey to the next available ferry without additional charges.
Non-Refundable Scenarios
Certain situations are classified as non-refundable. These include no-show cases, where the passenger fails to report for boarding on the day of travel, as well as tickets cancelled within a very short notice period, usually less than 24 hours before departure.
In such cases, the full ticket amount may be forfeited.
Processing Times
Once a refund request is approved, the amount is typically processed and credited back to the original mode of payment.
Refund processing generally takes around 10-15 working days, although the exact timeline may vary depending on the bank, payment gateway, or issuing authority.
